An affiliation with Avera could give Lakes Regional improved purchasing power and subsequently lead to lower costs. The partnership would also likely improve continuity of care for patients, according to a Lakes Regional news release.
Lakes Regional decided to pursue a partnership as a result of the changing healthcare landscape, which has driven the organization to explore ways to improve care delivery, said Jason Harrington, Lakes Regional president and CEO, in the release.
Lakes Regional will hold a town hall meeting Aug. 28 to let interested individuals learn more about the potential affiliation.
