The University of Louisville signed a nonbinding letter of intent last month indicating the university’s interest in purchasing the hospital and other local assets from Louisville-based KentuckyOne Health. However, the university is not be able to complete the purchase alone, which would also include the adjacent Frazier Rehabilitation Institute, where it hosts a number of medical programs.
“Talks continue with a number of potential partners,” said John Karman, a spokesman for the University of Louisville. “It would be premature to discuss any of the details of those conversations.”
