Bossier City, La.-based Allegiance Health Management plans to divest four of its Louisiana hospitals, according to an Oct. 5 news release.

The hospitals are:

  • Minden (La.) Medical Center
  • Northern Louisiana Medical Center in Ruston
  • Acadian Medical Center in Eunice
  • Mercy Regional Medical Center in Ville Platte

Allegiance said the divestitures are part of an effort to position each facility for long-term sustainability. The company did not name potential buyers or give a timeline, saying more details on new ownership and timing will come later. The transactions are subject to customary processes and approvals.

“Our highest priority is protecting the delivery of quality healthcare services and ensuring that patients, employees, physicians and the communities these hospitals serve experience as little disruption as possible,” Allegiance CEO Scott Prouty said in the release.

Mr. Prouty said the company will work with community leaders, employees, medical staff and prospective owners to support continuity of care during the transition.

Allegiance Health Management operates 13 hospitals in Louisiana, Texas and Mississippi, according to its website.
