Allegheny Health Network acquires Klingensmith Healthcare

Pittsburgh-based Allegheny Health Network has acquired a majority ownership of Ford City, Pa.-based Klingensmith Healthcare, a respiratory and home medical device equipment and services provider.

With its controlling interest in Klingensmith, Allegheny intends to grow its home-based services offerings.

"Our strategy is to build a first-in-class, fully-integrated set of high quality, efficient and lower cost home-based services that allow us to provide patients with the full continuum of care they may need outside the four walls of the hospital," said John Paul, president and CEO of Allegheny.

Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
