Alamance Regional, Cone Health Merger Clears FTC Hurdle

Greensboro, N.C-based Cone Health announced the Federal Trade Commission will allow it to move forward with its agreement to merge Burlington, N.C.-based Alamance Regional Medical Center into its system, expected to be finalized Wednesday.

The addition of Alamance Regional would bring Cone to six hospitals. The plan has been in the works since it was publicly announced in December 2011. Financial details of the acquisition have not been disclosed.
