In 2007 SAMC took over management of Medical Center Barbour through SAMC’s affiliate, Southeast Alabama Regional Health Care Authority. SAMC helped renovate rooms, purchase new equipment and provide specialty physicians for Medical Center Barbour.

The lease agreement between SEAR and Eufaula finishes at the end of this year. Mr. Martin said continued partnership with SAMC will help the hospital provide quality healthcare to the community, according to the report.
