Affiliation Between Dartmouth-Hitchcock, New London Hospital Finalized

Effective Oct. 1, New London (N.H.) Hospital became an affiliate of Lebanon, N.H.-based Dartmouth-Hitchcock.

The deal received clearance from New Hampshire Attorney General Joseph Foster in mid-September. The approval follows several months of public hearings and regulatory review. Dartmouth-Hitchcock and New London Hospital officials proposed an affiliation in March.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. In a statement, New London Hospital President and CEO Bruce King said the transaction will focus on strengthening clinical services, improving population health, reducing healthcare spending and collaborating on Dartmouth-Hitchcock’s Pioneer accountable care organization.
