Advocate, Aurora Health complete merger to form 10th largest system

Downers Grove, Ill.-based Advocate Health Care and Milwaukee-based Aurora Health Care finalized their merger April 1 to become Advocate Aurora Health.

The 10th largest health system in the nation, Advocate Aurora Health comprises 27 hospitals, more than 500 care sites, 8,100-plus physicians and an estimated 70,000 team members.

The health systems, which will pull in revenues of a combined $11 billion, received the last approval necessary to finalize their proposed merger last month.
