The agreement still requires approval from Georgia’s attorney general. Meanwhile, Adventist and the hospital authority have signed an interim management agreement, under which the health system will start managing day-to-day operations at Murray Medical Center — including administration, patient safety, purchasing and personnel.
“This agreement means that the residents of Murray County will continue to have a hospital,” said Randall Richards, MD, chair of the Hospital Authority of Murray County. “Every member of the Murray County Hospital Authority has worked diligently to keep our doors open and to provide the primary health care that our citizens deserve. We view this new relationship with AHS as a very positive move that will assist in continuing to attract new people and new businesses to this beautiful part of Georgia.”
