AdventHealth to manage North Carolina hospital

Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based AdventHealth, a health system with more than 50 hospitals in nine states, plans to assume management of St. Luke’s Hospital in Columbus, N.C.

The agreement, announced Aug. 19, also extends to several physician and ambulatory care clinics, according to a news release from the health system. St. Luke’s Hospital will soon be renamed AdventHealth Polk.

AdventHealth expects the transition to be completed in October, pending government and regulatory approvals. Meanwhile, current management will remain in place at St. Luke’s Hospital, according to the release. 

In North Carolina, AdventHealth already operates AdventHealth Hendersonville.
