The following hospital mergers, acquisitions and general transactions took place within the past week, beginning with the most recent.

1. CVS Health enters into clinical affiliations with 3 academic medical centers
CVS Health entered into clinical affiliations with Baltimore-based University of Maryland Medical System, University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and the University of Alabama at Birmingham Health System.

2. Meridian Health, Raritan Bay Medical Center agree to explore merger
Neptune, N.J.-based Meridian Health and Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy, N.J., signed a letter of intent explore a merger, and over the next several months the two organizations will enter into a due diligence period to thoroughly look into the financial, legal and clinical issues involved in the transaction.

3. University of Rochester Medical Center, Noyes consider affiliation
University of Rochester (N.Y.) Medicine and Dansville, N.Y.-based Noyes Health are discussing a possible affiliation, although officials say they are still months away from making a decision.

4. Onslow Memorial, Vidant in partnership talks
Onslow Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, N.C., is considering a partnership with Greenville, N.C.-based Vidant Health.
