4 New York Hospitals Look to Leave Stellaris Network

Four hospitals in New York's Westchester County have filed requests to leave the Armonk, N.Y.-based Stellaris Health Network, according to a report from The Journal News.

Phelps Memorial Hospital in Sleepy Hollow, White Plains Hospital in White Plains, Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco and Lawrence Hospital Center in Bronxville filed requests with the state last week to "disestablish" Stellaris as "active parent and co-operator," according to the report.

This action — which requires approval from the New York State Department of Health — will allow the hospitals to seek new partners, although Stellaris will keep providing IT support and some other services to the facilities.

Stellaris started as an alliance between White Plains and Northern Westchester Hospitals in 1996. Phelps and Lawrence joined in 1997.
