1. WellSpan, Summit Health to affiliate: 3 takeaways
Summit Health, a two-hospital system in Chambersburg, Pa., and six-hospital system WellSpan Health in York, Pa., signed an affiliation agreement, WellSpan announced June 29.

2. Humana, 2 private equity firms close $4.1B Kindred sale
Humana, TPG Capital and Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe completed their acquisition of Louisville, Ky.-based post-acute care provider Kindred Healthcare for $4.1 billion in cash, including assumption of debt.

3. Shuttered 128-bed California hospital sells for $33M
Los Angeles-based Pacific Alliance Medical Center, which closed last November due to costs related to retrofitting its facilities to meet the state’s seismic standards, was recently purchased by a physician group for $33 million.
