3 major Mississippi health systems reveal proposals for OCH Regional affiliation

Board members from Starkville, Miss.-based OCH Regional Medical Center met with representatives from three major health systems March 22 to discuss their proposals for a potential affiliation, according to WTVA News.

Officials met with representatives from three Mississippi health systems, including Jackson-based Baptist Health System, Tupelo-based North Mississippi Health Services and University of Mississippi Medical Center, also in Jackson. All three health systems presented their plans for a proposed affiliation during the meeting March 22.

"We were looking at what they had to offer and looking at our priorities, at what our expectations and needs are and what system we think could best help fulfill and meet those needs," OCH Regional Medical Center CEO and Administrator Richard Hilton said.

Board members are scheduled to meet with representatives from all three systems again March 27. It is unclear when OCH Regional officials will issue a decision regarding a potential partner.
