Bloomington, Minn.-based HealthPartners has signed a letter of intent to affiliate with Lakeview Health System in Stillwater, Minn., which owns a hospital and multispeciality practice, according to a Star Tribune report.

This is the third partnership for HealthPartners, which has formed partnerships with other hospitals in St. Paul, Minn., and in western Wisconsin. Lakeview is one of the few independent systems remaining in Minnesota. It will remain a separate entity with its own board, according to the report.

The partnership is expected to be finalized in April.
