 Beaumont Health System in Royal Oak, Mich., Botsford Health Care in Farmington Hills, Mich., and Oakwood Healthcare in Dearborn, Mich., reached a definitive agreement to combine their operations into a $3.8 billion healthcare organization.

Carondelet Health Network, based in Tucson, Ariz., and its parent company, St. Louis-based Ascension Health, signed a nonbinding letter of intent with San Francisco-based Dignity Health and a subsidiary of Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare Corp. to create a joint venture.

Lynchburg, Va.-based Centra Health took full ownership of Bedford (Va.) Memorial Hospital for $12 million.

CharterCare Health Partners, a nonprofit health system, announced a partnership with Santa Ana, Calif.-based for-profit Prospect Medical Holdings.

Community Health Systems, based in Franklin, Tenn., and Natchez (Miss.) Regional Medical Center signed a definitive agreement allowing CHS to acquire all of Natchez Regional’s assets.

The board of District One Hospital in Faribault, Minn., voted unanimously to approve an affiliation agreement with Allina Health, headquartered in Minneapolis.

Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger Health System and Camp Hill, Pa.-based Holy Spirit Health System signed a definitive agreement for Holy Spirit to become an affiliate of Geisinger.

The board of Atlanta-based home health and hospice services provider Gentiva Health Services turned down an unsolicited takeover offer from Kindred Healthcare, a post-acute care services provider based in Louisville, Ky.

The boards of Greenville (S.C.) Health System and Seneca, S.C.-based Oconee Medical Center approved a binding agreement that makes OMC part of GHS integrated health system.

Burlington, Mass.-based Lahey Health and Winchester (Mass.) Hospital made their partnership official after an extensive review of the proposed affiliation by the Massachusetts Health Policy Commission.

Bronxville, N.Y.-based Lawrence Hospital and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City announced a new partnership aimed at enhancing care, improving access and lowering healthcare costs for residents of Bronxville and surrounding counties in Westchester County.

MedWest Haywood, a public hospital authority in Clyde, N.C., reached an agreement in principle concerning its pending acquisition by Brentwood, Tenn.-based Duke LifePoint Healthcare.

Mercy Memorial Hospital System in Monroe, Mich., a 238-bed nonprofit community hospital, signed a letter of intent to join Toledo, Ohio- based ProMedica.

Nyack (N.J.) Hospital and Bronx, N.Y.-based Montefiore Health System struck an agreement under which the hospital will become a member of the Montefiore system.

Oconee Regional Health Systems and Oconee Regional Medical Center, both located in Midgeville, Ga., agreed to partner with Central Georgia Health System and The Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon.

Orlando (Fla.) Health, a nonprofit hospital network, announced it will end explorations for a partner for a merger or acquisition and will remain independent.

Exclusive affiliation negotiations fell through between Vancouver, Wash.-based PeaceHealth and two small community hospitals in northwest Washington state — Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon and Cascade Valley Hospital and Clinics in Arlington.

New Jersey Superior Court Judge Margaret Mary McVeigh approved the sale of St. Mary’s Hospital in Passaic, N.J., to Ontario, Calif.-based Prime Healthcare Services.

The University of Arizona Health Network and University of Arizona, both based in Tucson, executed a principles of agreement document with Phoenix-based Banner Health to create a state- wide healthcare organization in Arizona.
