 Beaumont Health System in Royal Oak, Mich., Botsford Health Care in Farmington Hills, Mich., and Oakwood Healthcare in Dearborn, Mich., reached a definitive agreement to combine their operations into a $3.8 billion healthcare organization.

Carondelet Health Network, based in Tucson, Ariz., and its parent company, St. Louis-based Ascension Health, signed a nonbinding letter of intent with San Francisco-based Dignity Health and a subsidiary of Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare Corp. to create a joint venture.

Lynchburg, Va.-based Centra Health took full ownership of Bedford (Va.) Memorial Hospital for $12 million.

CharterCare Health Partners, a nonprofit health system, announced a partnership with Santa Ana, Calif.-based for-profit Prospect Medical Holdings.

Community Health Systems, based in Franklin, Tenn., and Natchez (Miss.) Regional Medical Center signed a definitive agreement allowing CHS to acquire all of Natchez Regional’s assets.

The board of District One Hospital in Faribault, Minn., voted unanimously to approve an affiliation agreement with Allina Health, headquartered in Minneapolis.

Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger Health System and Camp Hill, Pa.-based Holy Spirit Health System signed a definitive agreement for Holy Spirit to become an affiliate of Geisinger.

MedWest Haywood, a public hospital authority in Clyde, N.C., reached an agreement in principle concerning its pending acquisition by Brentwood, Tenn.-based Duke LifePoint Healthcare.

Orlando (Fla.) Health, a nonprofit hospital network, announced it will end explorations for a partner for a merger or acquisition and will remain independent.

New Jersey Superior Court Judge Margaret Mary McVeigh approved the sale of St. Mary’s Hospital in Passaic, N.J., to Ontario, Calif.-based Prime Healthcare Services.

The University of Arizona Health Network and University of Arizona, both based in Tucson, executed a principles of agreement document with Phoenix-based Banner Health to create a state- wide healthcare organization in Arizona.
