SwedishAmerican Hospital in Rockford, Ill., is a full-service, non-profit hospital serving northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. It is a part of the SwedishAmerican Health System.

1. As the president and CEO of SwedishAmerican Health System, William Gorski, MD, oversees SwedishAmerican Hospital.

2. As COO of SwedishAmerican Health System, Richard Walsh oversees operations at SwedishAmerican Hospital.

3. SwedishAmerican Hospital has 333 beds.

4. The hospital is home to 350 staff physicians.

5. For the cost report period ending May 2011, SwedishAmerican Hospital recorded over $1 billion in gross charges and a net income of $18 million, according to American Hospital Directory.

6. In 2011, the hospital performed 4,700 inpatient surgeries, 6,000 outpatient surgeries, 2,900 births and 73,800 outpatient visits, according to American Hospital Directory.  

7. In 2012, SwedishAmerican Hospital earned The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval.

8. SwedishAmerican Hospital was founded in 1911.

9. In 2012, SwedishAmerican Hospital's cancer program was granted a three-year accreditation by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons.

10. SwedishAmerican Hospital is a teaching hospital that hosts the University of Illinois College of Medicine's residency program.
