7. The hospital received a Patient Safety Excellence Award from Healthgrades in 2013.  

8. Straub Clinic and Hospital was founded in 1921 as "The Clinic" by George F. Straub, MD.

9. The hospital is home to the Pacific region's only multidisciplinary burn treatment center.

10. The hospital is the home of many medical firsts in Hawaii, including the first arthroscopic knee surgery, pediatric cardiac ablation and mitral valve surgery.
