Stuart Flynn, MD, the current dean, will be departing April 15 for a position as dean at a new medical school started by Fort Worth-based Texas Christian University and Fort Worth-based University of North Texas Health Science Center. Dr. Flynn has served as dean of the UA Phoenix medical school since 2008.
The medical school plans to launch a full search for a permanent dean.
In addition, Charles Cairns, MD, has been named dean of the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Tucson. Dr. Cairns has held the position of interim dean throughout the past 14 months, according to the report.
