Texas anesthesia group joins physician services organization

Through a new partnership, U.S. Anesthesia Partners, a Dallas-based anesthesia physician services organization, will provide Tyler-based East Texas Anesthesiology Associates access to business infrastructure and expertise to support its practice.

"As a USAP practice, we are gaining valuable insight into the rapidly changing reimbursement environment and IT infrastructure that will position us for continued success. This partnership with USAP gives ETAA immediate access to the infrastructure and expertise that we would not be able to build ourselves," Shawn Thomas, MD, ETAA president, said in a statement.

USAP aims to provide its partners with support to position the physician groups for future. "Hospitals continue to require a more sophisticated level of service from their anesthesiology groups, in addition to high-quality clinical care. Government payers are requiring increasingly robust data reporting to maintain current levels of reimbursement, and commercial payers will not be far behind," USAP CEO Kris Bratberg said in a statement.
