Police identified the victim of a fatal vehicular crash Monday afternoon as Juergen Willmann, MD, a radiologist, professor of radiology and division chief of body imaging at the Stanford (Calif.) University School of Medicine, NBC Bay Area reports.
California Highway Patrol said Dr. Willmann reportedly lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree in the median between two roads just outside Palo Alto, Calif., around 12:25 p.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene, the report states.
CHP is still investigating the crash.
