Southern Illinois Healthcare Foundation Acquires Weber Medical Clinic

Southern Illinois Healthcare Foundation, based in East St. Louis, Ill., has acquired Weber Medical Clinic in Olney, Ill, in a deal that was completed March 5, according to an Olney Daily Mail report.

Five of the group’s physicians resigned or retired prior to the merger, and the health system plans to replace them with primary care providers. The group previously included a number of specialists, but now plans to move away from that model, according to the report.

SIHF does not plan to change the name of Weber Medical Clinic, according to a hospital spokesperson.
