Southcoast Health System is on Provider Recruiting Spree

New Bedford, Mass.-based Southcoast Health System has hired 109 healthcare providers in 2013, expanding the ranks of its employed providers by nearly 50 percent, according to a Boston Business Journal report.

Roughly 80 of the new providers are physicians. The system has recruited physicians from 40 states, using national medical meetings to widen its pool of potential providers, according to the report.

Southcoast has identified gaps in care in the market and is aiming to close them by hiring new providers, Boston Business Journal reported.
