Ochsner, Adeptus partner on stand-alone emergency rooms

Jefferson, La.-based Ochsner Health System is partnering with Lewisville, Texas-based Adeptus Health to create stand-alone emergency rooms in New Orleans, according to The Advocate.

The organizations will initially open sites in the greater New Orleans area, but hope to eventually operate sites across the state.

Ochsner is Louisiana’s largest nonprofit healthcare system, with 25 hospitals and over 50 health centers. Adeptus currently owns, operates or has partnerships of emergency rooms in Texas, Colorado and Arizona.

“We want to offer a full spectrum of care and see patients when and where they want to be seen,” said Ochsner president and CEO Warner Thomas.
