MEDNAX acquires neonatology practice in Missouri: 3 things to know

National medical group MEDNAX has acquired Mid-Missouri Neonatology, a private neonatal physician group practice based in Columbia.

Here are three things to know about the deal.

1. Founded in 1997, Mid-Missouri Neonatology employs three full-time neonatologists. The practice provides delivery, neonatal, newborn nursery, pediatric and consultative services at Boone Hospital Center, a 21-bed Level III neonatal intensive care unit.

2. The acquisition adds to the services MEDNAX provides in Missouri across multiple specialties which include maternal-fetal, neonatal, cardiac and hearing screen services, both parties said.

3. The cash transaction is expected to be immediately accretive to earnings. No additional terms of the deal were disclosed.
