Medical researcher found dead in NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell hospital bathroom

Police reportedly discovered the body of a 40-year-old medical researcher at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City Sunday, the New York Daily News reports.

Police said they found Miguel Crespo, PhD, unconscious in a bathroom on the eighth floor of the hospital around 2:50 p.m. Sunday. Investigators also reportedly found vomit near Dr. Crespo's body, according to the report.

It is unclear how Dr. Crespo died.

Dr. Crespo had worked as a medical researcher at a stem cell laboratory at New York CIty-based Weill Cornell Medical College since 2011, according to his LinkedIn profile.

"Weill Cornell Medicine is saddened by the death of our colleague Miguel Crespo, PhD. We extend our deepest sympathies to his family and friends," a spokesperson for NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center told Becker's Hospital Review via email Monday.
