Massachusetts's Cape Cod Healthcare Partners with Local Physicians to Create ACOs

Cape Cod Healthcare in Haynnis, Mass., has partnered with the local physician community to create two new organizations with hopes of them evolving into ACOs, according to a CCHC news release.

The partnership will create a new physician-hospital organization, Cape Cod Health Network, and a new physician organization, Cape Cod Preferred Physicians. The PO will be physician-owned and physician-governed. The PHO will be a joint venture of the PO and the CCHC system, and have joint governance. The long-term goal is for both organizations to evolve into ACOs

In addition to these partnerships, CCHC will also contract with Caritas Christi Network Services, a Boston-based Physician Network. This contract will allow Cape Cod physicians who join the new PO and PHO the right to take part in the CCNS payor risk contracts immediately, according to the release.
