HCA acquires 14 urgent care centers in Las Vegas

Nashville, Tenn.-based Hospital Corporation of America has acquired Urgent Care Extra's Nevada operations, which include 14 urgent care centers in Las Vegas, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Through the deal, HCA also acquired six additional urgent care centers that are under development. The Urgent Care Extra centers provide various services, including on-site exams, occupational health services and vaccinations.

"This acquisition adds a strong network of leading urgent care centers to our Las Vegas network and complements our presence in the market," Sam Hazen, HCA's COO, said in a statement. "Additionally, the acquisition builds on HCA's strategy to improve patient access to our healthcare system in the markets we serve."

HCA now owns a total of 65 urgent care centers across the U.S. It operates 168 hospitals and 114 surgery centers in 20 states and the United Kingdom.
