Eye group splits from Premier Health

Ohio Eyecare Institute left Dayton, Ohio-based Premier Health Specialists Sept. 12, according to the physician group’s website.

The Dayton Business Journal reports the closure of the Ohio Eyecare Institute is due to changes in volume and an increased focus on eye surgery. Just one of the eye group’s physicians, Amina Husain Zaman, MD, stayed behind to set up her own practice, Premier Eye Surgeons, in Ohio Eyecare Institute’s old location. Dr. Husain Zaman will remain affiliated with Premier and is accepting new patients, according to the report.

Ohio Eyecare Institute had an 80-year history in Dayton, according to the Premier website.
