Edward-Elmhurst Health, UChicago Medicine affiliate for pediatric care

Naperville, Ill.-based Edward-Elmhurst Health and the University of Chicago Medicine are expanding pediatric subspecialty care in west and southwest suburban Chicago communities.

The expansion began this month, adding a dozen pediatric subspecialties to outpatient clinics associated with Edward Hospital in Naperville and Elmhurst (Ill.) Hospital. The new affiliation builds on the existing pediatric oncology partnership between UChicago Medicine and Edward Hospital.

"Our primary goal is to provide the most comprehensive care possible for newborns and children closer to home," Pam Davis, System CEO of Edward-Elmhurst Health, said in a statement. "Along with more than 100 independent pediatric subspecialty providers we have on staff, University of Chicago Medicine helps us fulfill that commitment with its nationally recognized physicians and care."

Expanded services include pediatric gastroenterology, pulmonary and rheumatology. The systems plan to add sports medicine, cardiology, hematology/oncology, neurology and sleep medicine in the coming months.
