Crozer has been a clinical campus of Drexel’s medical school for more than 30 years, but as of July 2017, 24 medical students per class will conduct their clinical rotations at Crozer.
Drexel University College of Medicine’s five other regional medical campuses include Abington (Pa.) Memorial Hospital, Pittsburgh-based Allegheny General Hospital, Kaiser Permanente Sacramento (Calif.), Long Branch, N.J.-based Monmouth Medical Center and WellSpan York (Pa.) Hospital. It also has 17 academic campuses.
Stephen Higgins, MD, will be the associate dean of the regional medical campus.
“We are so pleased that Crozer is joining us as a regional medical campus,” said Valerie Weber, MD, vice dean for educational affairs at Drexel University College of Medicine. “Although we’ve had a longstanding academic relationship with the medical center, this new designation will allow our students to interact more extensively with Crozer’s experienced physician faculty in an outstanding clinical environment.”
