CMS Redesigns Physician Compare Website

CMS Administrator Marilyn Tavenner has announced Physician Compare, a website that allows patients to search information about physicians and other care providers, has been redesigned with an improved search function and new information.

Information like the following will now be included on Physician Compare, according to the CMS news release:

•    Specialties offered by physicians and group practices
•    Board certification
•    If the physician is using electronic health records
•    Physician affiliation with hospitals and other healthcare professionals

The updates were based on user and partner feedback, according to the news release.

“This vastly improved website will provide new information in an improved, easy-to-use format,” Ms. Tavenner said in the release.
