Under the deal, which consolidates the two’s cancer services, New Mexico Cancer Care Associates will provide both chemotherapy and radiation services at its main clinic. The hospital currently only provides radiation treatments, and as part of the agreement, the hospital will pay the cancer clinic a fee to take over this service. The move to affiliate the former competitors is intended to improve cancer services and avoid layoffs, according to the report.
