Chesapeake Regional Healthcare, Atlantic Shores partner to integrate services: 6 things to know

Atlantic Shores Retirement Community in Virginia Beach, Va., and Chesapeake (Va.) Regional Healthcare, both independently owned and managed institutions, have partnered to integrate CRH's healthcare services at Seaside Health Center at Atlantic Shores, a skilled nursing facility, and The Wellness Clinic at Atlantic Shores.

Here are six things to know about the partnership.

1. Under the partnership, workers at Atlantic Shores will have access to CRH's EMR, technologies and additional resources.

2. Director-level specialists from CRH will provide on-site guidance for quality, infection control and discharge planning.

3. CRH will work directly with Atlantic Shores medical directors Daniel McCready, MD, and Dr. Paul Johnstone, DO, in managing all provided services.

4. Patients at Atlantic Shores will have access to specialty physicians such as cardiologists and orthopedic surgeons who are part of the CRH physician network.

5. In the future, there is potential for the expansion of on-site healthcare services, including Medicare-certified home health services, in addition to the private duty home health services currently offered to all Atlantic Shores residents.

6. In a news release, Atlantic Shores General Manager Eden Jones said the partnership "allows us to provide best-in-class service seamlessly throughout the continuum of care, creating a comprehensive process for optimum wellness."
