Catholic Health Services of Long Island picks urgent care partner

Catholic Health Services of Long Island (N.Y.) is formally collaborating with CityMD, a New York City-based urgent care provider, to offer patients more care options that are clinically integrated with the system's continuum of care.

In particular, CHS of Long Island expects the collaboration to be a boon for patients who need to see a provider outside of their physician's normal business hours. The additional option will provide patients with more immediate care for non-emergency health issues while keeping them out of the emergency room. The formal collaboration ensures patients are transitioned smoothly to other levels of care if need be.

"CHS is pleased to extend its network, making healthcare as convenient and affordable as possible for our patients and employees, especially for those living with chronic conditions," Catholic Health Services COO Dennis Verzi said in a statement.

CityMD operates 15 locations in Long Island. It is open seven days a week and offers adult and pediatric walk-in appointments.
