The health system began the tradition eight years ago to build camaraderie and understanding between practioners and employees of the Islamic faith and their colleagues. Zulfiqar Ahmed, MD, a pediatric anesthesiologist at Beaumont Hospital-Dearborn, was one of the 35 organizers of this year’s event.
“It’s really about sharing this time with all our colleagues and giving us a chance to fellowship together,” Dr. Ahmed told the Press & Guide. “There are so many rampant, unconfirmed rumors out there … the only thing we can do in the right way is bring people together and expose our true values to friends and colleagues.”
