Ascension hospital in Milwaukee invests $2M in new neurosurgery program

Ascension Columbia St. Mary's Hospital Milwaukee, part of Ascension Wisconsin, is building out a neurosurgery program to become more competitive with other hospitals in the area, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

The hospital is investing $2 million to upgrade facilities and buy neurosurgery equipment after hiring two neurosurgeons in May, according to the report.

The investment is part of its strategy to become a tertiary care center, while also making it more competitive with Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center and Froedtert Hospital, two other facilities based in Milwaukee, according to the report.
