The office of Linda Keirstead, MD, will close after nine years of practice in Haines, leaving the South East Alaska Regional Health Consortium Clinic as the last facility for provides primary care in Haines. Dr. Keirstead told patients in a letter her practice was unable to continue practicing “without being consumer by the enormous and escalating administrative burden that our healthcare system has placed on us,” according to the report.
The director of practice management at SEARHC told KHNS the Haines clinic is evaluating its options and considering bringing on more staff to accommodate the closure of Dr. Keirstead’s practice.
