Akron General Contracts for Hospitalist Services

Akron (Ohio) General Health System has entered an agreement with Sound Physicians, a hospitalist organization, to have Sound Physicians staff hospitalists at Akron General Medical Center.

Sound Physicians will introduce a workflow and communications platform at Akron General as part of the deal, which is expected to drive improvements in patient outcomes and costs.

“Akron General is committed to providing compassionate, cost-effective, high-quality care. Sound Physicians has a track record of excelling in these areas and we look forward to their contribution to the care of our patients,” Alan Papa, president and COO of Akron General Health System, said in the news release.
