In an annual survey, 116 medical schools submitted data on the number of applications they received to U.S. News. Here are the 10 medical schools that received the highest number of applicants for fall 2015.

1. Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (Erie, Pa.) — 15,475 applicants

2. Drexel UniversityCollege of Medicine (Philadelphia) — 15,282

3. Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine (New York City) — 13,273

4. Georgetown University School of Medicine (Washington, D.C.) — 12,697

5. George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences (Washington, D.C.) — 11,839

6. Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University (Philadelphia) — 11,347

7. Boston University School of Medicine — 10,929

8. Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University (Philadelphia) — 10,540

9. Western University of Health Sciences (Pomona, Calif.) — 10,317

10. Alpert Medical School at Brown University (Providence, R.I.) — 10,245
