Windham Community Memorial in Connecticut Lays Off 20 Workers

Windham Community Memorial Hospital in Willimantic, Conn., will soon lay off 21 workers from the hospital’s billing and transcription department, according to a Norwich Bulletin report.

The cuts come as the hospital anticipates reduced payments of $1.2 million from government health programs. A handful of the workers were offered positions with the outsourced billing company that provides services to Windham’s parent, Hartford Hospital, according to the report.
