The employees, represented by SEIU Healthcare PA, work in the hospital’s dietary and housekeeping departments. Contract negotiations have been ongoing since early January, and their contracts are set to expire Thursday.
Union representatives say the hospital’s proposed contract would cut salaries for some workers by more than $4 per hour and make health insurance less accessible, according to the report.
A tentative date for the proposed strike was not provided in the report.
