UPMC Cuts 29 Board Members

The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center has removed 29 people from its 51-member board of directors in an effort to improve the board’s effectiveness, according to a Pittsburgh Tribune-Review report.

The board will continue to be structured in three equal parts that represent the hospitals, University of Pittsburgh and community.

UPMC plans to create a new “board of visitors” comprised of community and business leaders to provide input on UPMC’s decisions.
