Regional Hospital of Scranton, formerly Mercy Hospital, was purchased earlier this year by Community Health Systems. Union employees are negotiating their first contract with the hospital operator with a looming deadline of Oct. 15.
Among the union employees’ goals, the rallying members hope to achieve proper staffing levels and equipment as well as fair wages and no outsourcing for some jobs, according to the report.
