University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital in Cleveland and Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, are expanding their partnership to improve care, strengthen capacity and increase access in Northeast Ohio.
Four things to know:
1. The expanded collaborative builds on an affiliation that began in 2015 with the Congenital Heart Collaborative, according to an Oct. 5 news release from Cleveland-based University Hospitals.
2. Under the expanded partnership, the two organizations will jointly recruit team members and invest in facilities and services that meet the region’s needs. They also plan to develop pediatric-specific ambulatory offerings to attract top talent.
3. Marissa Kiefer will continue as president of UH Rainbow and UH MacDonald Women’s Hospital in Cleveland. She will also oversee the collaborative’s day-to-day operations.
4. The organizations will now start operational planning, including building shared workflows and processes.
