“Ending the opioid addiction epidemic has been a priority for President @realDonaldTrump since day one,” the tweet said.
The president makes $400,000 a year. President Trump pledged to donate his presidential salary to different agencies each quarter. So far he has donated more than $1 million, according to White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham. Past donations have gone to the departments of Agriculture, Education, Homeland Security, Transportation and Veterans Affairs, as well as the National Park Service, NIH and the Small Business Administration.
This is the fourth salary donation President Trump has made to HHS. His other donations to HHS were earmarked for a public health advisory, to expand alcoholism research and to fight the opioid epidemic.
