President Donald Trump called the “Medicare-for-All” bill proposed by Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., a “curse on the U.S.” according to The Hill.

“Bernie Sanders is pushing hard for a single payer healthcare plan-a curse on the U.S. & its people,” Mr. Trump tweeted Thursday. “I told Republicans to approve healthcare fast or this would happen. But don’t worry, I will veto because I love our country & its people.”

Mr. Sanders announced the bill Wednesday with support from 16 other Democratic senators, though Senate Minority Leader Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., did not endorse the bill. Though the bill has little chance of gaining traction in a Republican-controlled Congress, it is the most supported single-payer legislation ever proposed in the Senate.
