President Donald Trump continues to support CMS Administrator Seema Verma despite reports of infighting with HHS Secretary Alex Azar and questionable use of taxpayer dollars, according to The New York Times.

Ms. Verma and Mr. Azar have reportedly been asked to visit the White House this week to review their working relationship, according to the report.

Aside from the ongoing feud between the two leaders, Ms. Verma has faced critical reports for her use of taxpayer dollars. Most recently, Politico reported that she filed a $47,000 claim for luxury items and jewelry that were stolen from a car on a work trip. She is also under review for her use of communications consultants, which she used in part to boost her reputation.

The most recent report prompted Rep. Joe Kennedy, D-Mass., to call on Ms. Verma to step down for what he told Politico was a “gross misuse of public funds.”
