Technology leaders who spent 2021 focused on business acceleration will now be tasked with business transformation as companies are expecting CIOs to advise and execute, reported CIO Dive

Here are five predictions for what CIOs will take on in 2022:

1. About 1 in 10 CIOs’ performance will be tracked on revenue.

2. CIOs will take on a broader role, including implementing technology, managing data and logistics, securing data, and delivering actionable intelligence.

3. CIOs will need to manage and solve challenges regarding the hybrid work model. 

4. CIOs’ role may expand to a chief of staff role to transform companies into digital enterprises.

5. CIOs will have to prepare to have a public-facing role as they gain notoriety outside their organization because of integrated technology approaches.
