The announcement about the walk-in clinic’s expanded hours comes shortly after TAMC and Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems announced closure of five of six clinics inside Walmart stores. The health system attributed the closures to low patient volume.

According to the report, patients preferred to receive care at the walk-in clinic near the hospital rather than the retail clinics.
